Rescue Pilot Aims Even Higher – Klaus Rainer Experiences Weightlessness for the First Time Bordeaux, France / Klagenfurt, Austria – November 2025 Renowned Carinthian helicopter rescue pilot Klaus Rainer, who has completed more than 44,700 flights, 9700 flighthours and 8,000 rescue missions, has taken his passion for aviation to a whole new level — by experiencing weightlessness for the very first time.As part of a Zero Gravity training flight conducted by Air Zero G in Bordeaux, Rainer participated in a parabolic flight simulating the sensation of space travel. "It was simply indescribable," said the 59-year-old after floating freely for several minutes in microgravity conditions.Rainer, a long-time ÖAMTC and Austrian military helicopter pilot, has joined the visionary program Swiss Space Tourism (SST) — an initiative that aims to make suborbital space experiences accessible not only to astronauts but also to private citizens. His goal: to inspire others to reach for the stars."I've always been fascinated by extraordinary challenges," Rainer explains."Joining Swiss Space Tourism was a natural next step for me — and perhaps, one day, for many others who dream of space." During the training, Rainer had the unique opportunity to meet French astronaut Jean-François Clervoy, a veteran of several NASA Space Shuttle missions, who congratulated him on his achievement. While it remains to be seen whether Klaus Rainer will join the planned Mission 2035 to space, his message is already clear:"Even if I never make it to space myself, I want to inspire young people to dare the extraordinary — and to believe in themselves."

Want to inspire young people to get the next Generation of Pilots and Astronauts..

Launch vehicle

Currently available means of transport into space: Virgin Galactic and Blue Origin. Both launch from Texax USA Space Port.

Virgin Galactic

Virgin Galactic, founded by Sir Richard Branson, is a pioneering commercial spaceflight company aiming to make space tourism accessible, with flights typically reaching altitudes over 50 miles (approx. 80−9080 minus 9080−90 km) to provide passengers with several minutes of weightlessness and panoramic Earth views

Blue Origin

Founded in 2000 by Jeff Bezos, Blue Origin is an American aerospace company aiming to lower the cost and increase access to space via reusable rockets. Headquartered in Kent, Washington, with over 11,000 employees, it develops the suborbital New Shepard, orbital New Glenn, and lunar lander Blue Moon vehicles.

Virgin Galactic

``It's more than a spaceflight, it's a lifelong experience. Explore our Future Astronautcommunity and guided readiness program.``

Blue Origin

"It's this generation's job to build a road to space, so that future generations can unleash their creativity."

But hey give me the chance to fly all Aerobatics Maneuvers on my own, so i kept it... Raphael, great Pilot and great Personality, it was a pleasure to fly with you

F 18 Simulator Training Swiss Payerne 26. April 2025

Simulator Session in Payerne Swiss on F18 Fighter Jet to train unusual flight conditions and information input in short time

F 35 Simulator Session in Zürich 23. February 2026

In cooperation with the Simulator Center in Swiss Zürich, we will execute an Trainings Session next year. Boris Otter and Klaus Rainer together in Commanders Training. F35 Simulator Training in Swiss / Zürich 2026. The training goal would be rapid input of information and its meaningful use and application. No type-specific training.

The two F-35 fighter jet simulators can be used either as one aircraft with a pilot and co-pilot or as two single-seat aircraft. This allows your companion to enjoy the flight as a passenger, or you can fly two aircraft simultaneously. You can choose between free flights or missions with dogfights and challenging maneuvers. The high-end VR headsets, combined with the true-to-life cockpit, will make you instantly forget you're actually on the ground.
